Shane P. Skipper

Shane is a Garrett County native and grew up in one of its many Appalachian rural communities where the family and the outdoors are considered priceless treasures. He was raised on the softball fields, volleyball courts, in the woods, and a long trout streams as a sports and nature loving family. He attended and graduated from Southern Garrett High School as a tri-athlete. He continued his sports career while attending his local Garrett College as a collegiate baseball player. He soon found his lifelong love, Rhonda, and married her in 1994 before moving and completing his Land Surveying degree at Glenville State College. Well on his way to prove his surveying skills, he was hired as the Head of West Virginia Surveys at Highland Engineering & Surveying, Inc. locating him, his wife, and new born son Nicolas back to Garrett County. He took a sabbatical from the athletic sports realm and continue to raise a family to include two more sons Isaiah and Elisha before hearing and answering the call to ministry in 2003. He and his wife became youth leaders and eventually earned their ministry credentials, but not before having their precious baby girl Amariah. Continuing to work in the youth ministry Shane was appointed as youth pastor of his home church and he also felt the need to advance in his ministry credentialing and earned the level of Ordained Bishop. For 10 years he worked as the youth pastor, a professional land surveyor, and raised his family. Coaching youth sports came into the picture as his kids grew up and he introduced them to the art and responsibility of hunting and fishing while incorporating his faith with coaching. God started to nudge Shane out of the four wall ministry and showed him the ministry of evangelism and discipleship. He heard the call to go to the streets, hedges, highways, and byways. In this season, God opened an opportunity for Shane to volunteer with FCA as a high school campus Huddle Coach. God kept working in him and eventual Shane resigned as youth pastor and pursued Gods drawling outside the four walls and to seek the lost.

His passion to reach the Lost to be Saved, disciplining those that are Saved, to reach those that are Lost, grew exponentially. God opened the door for him to join the FCA team and to become a staff member in the fall of 2014 and after much prayer, study, and council, he officially became an FCA Area Representative for Garrett, Allegany, and Mineral Counties in March of 2015 and soon following expanded into Preston county. In 2018 Shane became the Area Director and after the hiring of 3 staff in Allegany county to include an Area Director for Allegany and Mineral counties. Shane's responsibilities include the hiring of new staff, developing current staff, and overseeing the ministries in the counties of Garrett, Grant, Tucker, and Preston.

Shane continues to seek the Lords leading in growing the mission ministry of FCA & FCAO in reaching the Lost to be Saved, disciplining those that are Saved, to reach those that are Lost through the 4C’s of FCA ministry and by the Methods of Engaging, Equipping, and Empowering Coaches, Athletes, and Outdoor enthusiasts.
Shane longs to see the prophetic come to be as revealed to Zechariah.
Zec 2:3 While the angel who was speaking to me was leaving, another angel came to meet him 4 and said to him: “Run, tell that young man, ‘Jerusalem will be a city without walls because of the great number of people and animals in it. 5 And I myself will be a wall of fire around it,’ declares the Lord, ‘and I will be its glory within.’
